Get to know your coach…
My wake-up call was when I became a parent – a place of joy, overdrafts and sleep deprivation. When my financial coach started to educate me on the things I never knew and the opportunities that were available to me, it struck a deep chord in my heart. I learned things that only a handful of people know about money and I simply couldn’t just walk off into the sunset. This is when I decided to become a financial coach myself.
Money is such a deep and inseparable part of our lives – It is that essential tool that is linked to our most basic human needs, our sense of dignity and personal fulfilment. Money is like food. It is nourishing, something to be enjoyed, shared and there is enough for everyone.
The inner journey
Money is such a private topic for most people and at the same time the relationship we have with it affects our lives so deeply. I know from experience that the best financial plan in the world needs a great mindset to make it happen. As a money mindset coach, I support individuals and couples to address often invisible personal barriers and create financial harmony in their relationships, so that creating that wonderful lifestyle they dream of suddenly becomes achievable.
The outer journey
Financial planning is about taking small steps today that can lead to massive outcomes now and in the future. As a financial coach, I work with individuals and families by sharing key knowledge, practical tools, and working together to create easy-to-follow financial plans that reflect their aspirations.
It’s a real privilege when a client lets me in to support them as they walk their dreams into reality.
I worked in the charity sector for many years where my roles involved helping groups organise and have their voices heard over issues that mattered to them and their communities. The sense of fulfilment I got from seeing how groups of people shape the world for the better is the same kind of fulfilment I get from seeing my clients shape their lives in ways that are unique and important to them.
I am currently serving as a Governor for an academic trust where I am creating partnerships towards embedding financial education in the school curriculums and activities.
When I’m not coaching, I love spending time with my family and seeing the world through the eyes of my children. Watching our son and daughter play at football matches followed by indulgent home-cooked meals pretty much sums up our family weekends. My personal pleasures are hiding away to work on my novel, sticky-toffee pudding and exploring new places.
