Get to know your coach…
I’ve spent the majority of my career in Finance and have more than 30 years as an accountant specialising in Tax. I spent the last 17 years of my Finance career working overseas across Central and Eastern Europe as a Tax Partner for a Big 4 Firm.
Since returning to the UK in 2017 I have been self-employed as an Executive Coach and Personal Development Trainer. To help clients achieve their goals, I like to provoke some new thinking by challenging clients’ thoughts about their finances, in a supportive environment.
What’s your favourite book?
My favourite book is Four Iron in the Soul by Lawrence Donegan. Written by a young musician/journalist who spent a year on the professional golf circuit caddying for a journeyman golfer. It’s all about their struggles on the tour, the ups and downs of their relationship as the caddy tries to help the golfer, and personal relationships on tour more broadly. I first read it more than 20 years ago and it’s interesting to read now from the perspective of trying to advise somebody on something that’s very important to them. Not one of the “classics” but the funniest book I’ve ever read.
